Bissoft Technologies – Consultants , study your Product, Market & Customer profile and make proposals for changes to the Planning Process, to achieve your Enterprise objectives. We work with various types of Planning methods, i.e. Demand Driven, Assemble to Order, Customer Order Driven, etc and implement the most appropriate to meet your specific needs.
Forecast driven Planning has been the main stay for quite some time in many industries .With constantly changing market demand , it is becoming very difficult to create Forecasts at Product or Group level, with better than 85% accuracy, over the Planning horizon. Secondly, investments in Inventory – Cost pressures & annual write downs, have created a situation to have a relook at the Planning Processes being followed by the Industry, to keep Inventory under control.
In this situation Customer- Demand or Order-driven production becomes more and more important: Production quantities are determined at the moment the customer demand or orders are known and therefore demand uncertainty is removed. Short delivery times (relative to the competitor) and sufficient capacities as well as a flexible production are necessary, for this type of operation.
The new production concepts, e.g. JIT, and more general Lean Production or Time Based Manufacturing reinforce the tendency to a more customer-order-driven production.
If the Manufacturing Lead Times, do not allow us to be competitive, then we study the Manufacturing along with you, and decide about the Decoupling Point, to carry forward the Order Driven Planning.
The changed Processes need the Organization to be agile to the Market changes and take prompt decisions to meet the Customer requirements.
This calls for an Integral Planning Team – of Sales, Production & Materials planners. This Team carries out all the Planning Functions, in the enterprise.
We also set up a Team of Sales, Operations and Procurement , who meet every Month to discuss & decide about the Sales Quantities, Sales Order Status , Manufacturing Capabilities and Material availability and deviations, from in the earlier Plan, made for the forward period. The outcome of the meeting is a final Plan of Execution, for the forward Planning period.
This enables the enterprise to improve its Planning Process out come and all have a stake in achieving the enterprise Objective of Customer Service, desired Inventory levels and Lower Costs.
